Microsoft Office for Mac 2011と2016用のセキュリテーアップデートをMicrosoft AutoUpdate for Mac経由で適用しました。今回のアップデートには修正以外に以下の改良機能が追加されたようです。尚、私はOutlookは使用していないので、今回のアップデートを適用していません。
Word
- More commands (such as New, Print, and Save) are added to the Quick Access toolbar in the upper-left corner of the window.
- When you print to PDF, the file name is now retained so that the name is not displayed as “Untitled.pdf.”
- Old format document (.doc) files that are hosted on an NFS share will open as read-only.
PowerPoint
- You can apply the Morph transition to easily move several objects at once.
- More commands (such as New, Print, and Save) are added to the Quick Access toolbar in the upper-left corner of the window.
- Old format presentation (.ppt) files that are hosted on an NFS share will open as read-only.
Excel
- More commands (such as New, Print, and Save) are added to the Quick Access toolbar in the upper-left corner of the window.
- Old format workbook (.xls) files that are hosted on an NFS share will open as read-only.

Update 情報、ありがとうございます。早速、Updateに取り掛かりました。あいにく2016版は入手しておりません（厳密に言うと、持っていますが、ライセンス供与のものではなく、お試し版？です）。ま、Office 365として使用出来るので、会社のLicenseで使用出来ます。なので、ま、Updateは必要かな？と思っています。私の勤務する会社はセキュリティー、勿論、厳しいのですが（当たり前）、非常にSmartにInternetに、Macから入って接続出来ます。そのお陰で、Macでも会社のメール、そして、そのLicenseでMS365も問題無く使える訳です。

Microsoft Wordは1989年にMicrosoft Windowsプラットフォームに移植される4年前の1985年にはすでにMac OS用ワープロソフトとして開発されていました。ExcelもMS DOSよりも先にMac用が使われていました。私が1989年にMacintosh SE/30を清水の舞台から飛び降りる気持ちで購入した時、スプレッドシートはExcelでした。互換性について問題視する人が多くおられますが、Office 2016 for Macはほぼ完璧な互換性を保っているそうです。（Windowsマシンがないので確認できませんが）私からしてみれば、もともとMac OS用のソフトウェアなので、Windows版と互換性があるのは当然のことです。
